water tank lust

I am fully aware that “lusting” after stock water tanks does not sound very…well, lust-worthy. But- those of you you that know me surely understand by now that I do not lust after typical trappings. I would any day rather be in the garden than get my nails done ….( read; ice pick in the forehead) I’d rather buy a stock tank from the feed mill than get a diamond tennis bracelet ( that will pretty much never-ever happen,  no offense if you have one).  I have a whole pin board at pinterest dedicated to my water tank lust- I kid you not. Here’s why I dig them, and perhaps when we are done with the ooddles of reasons, you may be tank-lusting on over at the farm and fleet too!

These hip- industrial , beautifully priced, extremely functional gems come in a ga-zillion sizes, shapes and depths. ( no FFA does not sponsor me…though you would think).  These tanks speak to my country roots, my city loves, my vintage hankerings- and my inner Martha..(.practical side)…..though this may be to low brow for Martha? …..well, maybe not? They can be filled with dirt..ala raised bed gardens..and no the gophers cannot get in!!

They are brilliant for the water garden you have been craving…( yes, me too….). They have a side drain..( just in-case you have no idea what these even are)- and in that case, please get to your local feed mill or farm-y stuff store or hardware store…even you city folk must have a place somewhat nearby to check these out…or hell go online…search-.stock tank, horse trough, water tank, galvanized tank..bla, bla, bla…..go!

Buy an old one if you can find it….farm auctions are the best ever. All kinds of cool old rusty metal junk for cheap. Then fill it up….plant in it, and around it…..do several……can you feel the love?….Tank -lovers unite.

They fit beautifully into pretty much any landscape- anywhere . City or countryside they just work. If you use them for plants or veggies,  add some drainage stones…you know the drill.

I LOVE them as over head lighting…doy. So cool, so hip…..the reflective surface makes them all the better. Remember…they come in lots of sizes. ( your very welcome hardware store owners of america….for this free ad….and no, they don’t pay me anything either)

As for me…I am thinking….cool pool.  I am so in.

Hooked yet? You get this- right?……  1-800-tank-lustin’..hello this is Tracy…yes, do you deliver….? Bring the big truck honey- I’ll take em’ all.

See you at the feed mill…say 10-ish. I’m the tall blond with the hat and sunglasses, fumbling with the popcorn machine…… donuts in the other hand- four boisterous boys running everywhere- can’t miss me.

Cheers + happy tank shopping…xx

T.

p.s. I have a thing for buckets too….that’s down the other aisle.

p.p.s. I dare  one of you to come up with 20 more ways to use these..( share with us…doy)…..maybe wait until you pour your vodka later- while you are on pinterest….. you can mulit-task can’t you?

p.p.s. ok, double dare…whatever.  One of had to say it…naturally it was me. Over and out.  xx
